“The tourism of sun and beach is the cornerstone of our industry, Costa Rica has 1,228 kilometers of coasts and around 600 beaches, and the activities related to these are the preferred ones for national and international tourists, extending the visitation schedule allows the country to continue to reactivate employment”, informed this Thursday the minister of tourism Gustavo Segura.
The visitation scheduled will work the same as the current vehicular restriction, meaning tourists can visit them from Monday to Friday from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Minister of Tourism announced also that it will reopen borders for flights from Central America and Panama
“The strategic importance of Central America and Panama for Costa Rica is business tourism, which is the main reason to travel for those that choose air travel to visit Costa Rica from these countries”, explained Segura.
In 2019 the country registered 144,330 international arrivals from Central America, although visitors from this region usually travel for business, they generally add a few days to their trip to visit tourist sites in Costa Rica.
Last week the Costa Rican Tourism Board announced they will allow entry to citizens and residents of all states of the United States starting November 1st to help with the economic reactivation of the country.
